  • A speech language pathologist (SLP) also known as a speech therapist is able to assess, diagnose and treat individuals with speech and language disorders, including but not limited to:

  • If you’ve noticed any of the following behaviors in your child, speech therapy might be beneficial:

    • Difficulty pronouncing sounds or words

    • Trouble understanding spoken instructions or conversations

    • Limited vocabulary or difficulty expressing thoughts clearly

    • Stuttering or frequent interruptions in speech

    • Difficulty engaging in conversations or social situations

    • Challenges with reading or writing

    A consultation with a licensed speech language pathologist can help determine whether therapy is needed and what type of services would be most beneficial.

  • Each session is personalized based on your child's specific needs. Typically, a session may include:

    • Targeted activities and exercises to address specific speech or language goals

    • Interactive games and exercises to keep the child engaged

    • Strategies for parents to support therapy at home

    Sessions generally last 30 minutes and are conducted in a friendly, encouraging environment. The pace and approach vary depending on the child’s age, needs, and progress.

  • The length of therapy depends on several factors, including the type and severity of the speech or language delay, as well as the child’s progress. Some children may need therapy for a few months, while others may need ongoing sessions over a longer period. After an initial assessment, we will work with you to create a personalized therapy plan and provide an estimate of the number of sessions required.

  • Typically, children attend speech therapy once or twice a week for 30 minute sessions, although this may vary based on the child’s needs, availability of the family, and/or the severity of the disorder.

    We recommend contacting your insurance provider directly to confirm coverage details. Please provide us with your insurance information, and we will verify coverage before your first appointment. If your insurance doesn’t cover speech therapy, we are happy to explore other payment options, including out-of-pocket payments.

  • In most cases, a referral is not necessary to begin speech therapy. However, some insurance companies may require a physician's referral or authorization. It’s a good idea to check with your insurance provider about their specific requirements. If a referral is needed, we can assist you with obtaining one.

  • Yes! We encourage parents or guardians to be involved in the therapy process. You are welcome to observe the sessions and may even be asked to participate in certain activities. At the end of each session, you will be provided feedback from the therapist and suggestions for activities you can do at home to reinforce progress.

  • We work with children of all ages, from toddlers who are just beginning to develop language skills, to school-aged children and adolescents who may be struggling with more specific communication challenges. Therapy plans are tailored to each age group and developmental stage to ensure the most effective approach.

  • We believe in transparency and collaboration. Your therapist will provide regular updates on your child’s progress, including specific milestones and goals. You will also receive written reports after assessments or milestone evaluations. We encourage ongoing communication between sessions to discuss any concerns or observations.

  • Nothing is required, but it can be helpful to have any favorite toys, books, or items that make them feel comfortable. We strive to create a fun, engaging atmosphere, so anything that helps your child feel at ease is welcome.

  • If your child misses a session, please notify us as soon as possible. We will do our best to accommodate rescheduling. However, 3 or more consecutively missed sessions may result in your child’s services being placed on hold until the scheduling difficulties are resolved or discontinued if necessary.

    We encourage consistent attendance to maintain steady progress.

    We accept cash, checks, all major credit cards, and Health Savings Accounts (HSAs).

    A Superbill outlining the services rendered will be provided for families who choose to seek reimbursement directly from their insurance company. *Please note that we cannot guarantee reimbursement, and recommend reviewing your individual plan with your insurance provider. Payment is due at the time of service and a credit or debit card will be required to be kept on file regardless of payment method
